This annual prize recognizes individuals, groups, or institutions who have made exceptional contributions to disseminating and promoting Arab art and culture globally. Established in 1998 by UNESCO and the Government of Sharjah, the prize honors outstanding researchers, artists, philosophers, authors, and translators who advance dialogue between Arab culture and other cultures. Two laureates are selected each year, each receiving $30,000.
